Chapter 2
Ebithril
Maximum was hyperventilating. Again.
I’m actually a dragon rider. An important part in history.
She was going to meet her teachers today. It was her second day at the academy. She still remembered how it had happened. She was talking with her friend Monica. She mentioned that the king’s officials were in town today. They were presenting the royal dragon eggs. She got and line. She was eventually brought forward. She walked toward the 3 eggs. She touched the first one. It was gold. The royal symbol appeared if it would hatch for you. It didn’t show up. She touched the black. Nothing there either. Then she touched the white one. It glowed and the royal symbol showed up. Yes. Her friend Monica touched the gold one. It glowed and the royal showed up. The soldiers escorted Monica and her to the carriage.
That was 3 days ago. Now she was ready. After meeting all her teachers, she would go to the forge to get a blade. But not just any blade. A magical blade. It was used by almost all the riders.
She walked out of her room and headed for the Mentors Field. On her way she joined Monica and Seth on their way to the Mentoring Field too.

Monica, Seth and Maximum walked to the Mess Hall. When they got to the Mentoring Field no one was there so they decided to get breakfast. The talked while they ate. Their conversation went like this.
“So what color are your dragons.” asked Seth
“White” said Maximum
“Gold. You?” asked Monica
“Black.”
“What are your names I didn’t catch them earlier?” asked Seth
“Monica.” said Monica
“Maximum, but its just Max” said Max
“So have you named your dragon’s?” asked Seth
“Yes” they both said at the same time.
“My dragon’s name is Bid’ium. After Eragon the First’s dragon.” said Maximum
“My dragon’s name is Partheon. It was my great-grandfathers name.” said Monica
“My dragon’s name is Kuthian. That was the name of Vreal’s Dragon’s name.” said Seth
They soon finished talking then went to the Mentoring Field. Breathen was there to meet them. Maximum didn’t particularly like him. He was always acting strange. The weirdest part was his smile. He almost always smiled. His smile was evil-like though. It creeped her out. Soon they arrived at the mentoring field. They saw Eragon meditating peacefully. He opened his eyes as soon as they arrived. He began to speak.
“Welcome to the Mentoring Field. Here you learn everything there is to being a rider. There are seven trials. Each will test your strength, cleverness, agility, and strategic thinking. We will begin shortly after your blades are forged. You will call me Master or Ebithrel. Now let us go to the forge.
